On December 4, 2023, the online seminar "One Belt, One Road Initiative in Modern Geopolitical Realities" became the first joint event of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the CITIC Foundation for Reform and Development Studies (China).

During the roundtable, leading Russian and Chinese experts discussed the development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in the context of world order transformation and its role in modernizing global economy. The experts summarized the ten-year evolution of the initiative and compared the BRI with alternative projects of other actors. Special attention was paid to the development of transport corridors in Eurasia and opportunities for cooperation between Russia and China in building Greater Eurasian Partnership.
Among the participants were Sergey Luzyanin, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies at MGIMO University and the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics at HSE University, RIAC Member; Wang Yiwen, Professor at the People's University of China, Sergey Tsyplakov; Professor of the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics at HSE University; Wang Xiaoquan, Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Sino-Russian Strategic Cooperation at the CITIC Foundation for Reform and Development Studies; Secretary General of the Center for the BRI Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Zhu Weibing, Senior Fellow at the CITIC Foundation for Reform and Development Studies.
