RIAC President Igor Ivanov and Director of Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovsky addressed the High-Level Dialog on International Migration and Development held in the UN Headquarters in New York on October, 3-4 in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution 63/225 adopted on December 19, 2008.
The event aims to set practical steps for strengthening international cooperation at all levels in order to minimize negative effects of migration and derive maximum benefit from it. This task coincides with the goals reflected in the RIAC’s English-language collection of articles Migration in Russia presented to the UN audience by Dr. Ivanov. The book consists of translations of selected papers from its namesake in Russian, including the article by Mr. Romodanovsky. The translated version offers foreign experts and officials a chance to familiarize with Russian works on the subject, since the issue is extremely burning for Russia that is rated by the UN as the second-largest recipient of migrants.
RIAC continues working on the project “International Migration Processes: Trends, Challenges and Outlook” aimed to produce analytical and reference materials, and find all optimal solutions for the most acute problems of migration.
