On December 13, 2023, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the Institute of East European, Russian and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IEERCAS CASS) held an online meeting to discuss plans for 2024.
The annual conference "Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era" which in 2024 will be held in Moscow, remains a priority area of cooperation between RIAC and CASS. The parties also discussed joint events and publications planned for next year.

The meeting was attended by Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director General, Sun Zhuangzhi, Head of the Institute of East European, Russian and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Xue Fuqi, Head of Strategic Studies Department at IEERCAS CASS, Julia Melnikova, RIAC Program Manager,
and other representatives of RIAC and the Academy.
