On March 19, 2019, representatives of the
diplomatic corps in Moscow and Russian experts had a meeting with Mirjana
Spoljaric Egger, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator
of UNDP, and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, and
Rastislav Vrbensky, Deputy Director.
On March 19, 2019, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Moscow and Russian experts had a meeting with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of UNDP, and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, and Rastislav Vrbensky, Deputy Director. The event was organized by the Swiss Embassy and supported by diplomats from Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey, experts from Sberbank of Russia and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. After the opening speeches by the organizers of the meeting, the discussion was opened by Timur Makhmutov, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs.
The discussion focused on the prospects for the implementation of development projects and conflict resolution in the South Caucasus and the Black Sea region, migration challenges in European countries, including the post-Soviet space. The participants pointed out the possibility of increasing cooperation among regional development banks, and discussed the potential of trade and economic interaction between the BSEC member countries.
