The meeting was opened by Alexander Aksenyonok, RIAC Vice-President, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia, and Hames Zreik, CEO at Damascus Center for Research and Studies. The parties discussed the features of the current stage of development of the Syrian conflict, the problems in economic recovery, Russia-Syria relations, and the prospects for their development. Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Assistant, Akil Mahfouz, Director of the Political Research Department, Karim Abu Khalaue, Director of the Social Research Department, Insaf Hamad, Director of the Cultural Research Department, Keenan Yaghi, Director of the Economic Research Department, and Madian Ali, research associate, took part in the discussion.
RIAC and Center for Research and Studies have expressed their intention to establish partnerships and continue cooperation in joint research projects.
