On November 26, 2014, RIAC presentation took place at Tomsk State University that is on the verge of becoming a RIAC corporate member.
The event was opened by Alexei Timoshenko, Head of the University World Politics Chair. RIAC Program Director Ivan Timofeev dwelled on the analytical and educational programs, stressing the need for quality research in the humanities area. “In absence of methodology and practice of collection and analysis of empirical data, we are unlikely to be perceived by our foreign colleagues in serious. We may be hardly cited if our works cannot offer a substantive content,” he said.

The program of RIAC’s team visit also included the lecture “Domestic and External Dimensions of China: the 2014 Model and Forecasting 2020” read by Sergey Luzyanin, Acting Director of RAS Institute for Far Eastern Studies.
On November 26, 2014 the RIAC delegation met Alexei Stukanov, Head of Department for International and Regional Relations of the Tomsk Region, and his deputy Maxim Volkov to discuss promising areas for cooperation between RIAC and the regional government in contact with Tomsk University.
During their stay in Tomsk, RIAC representatives are to hold a several-day training within the A+Standard program aimed to assist in adapting the University website for foreign audience.
