On May 13, 2020, under the auspices of the Think Tanks & Civil Societies Program of the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, the second online global meeting of independent think tanks was held to discuss the new priorities and features of the organizations in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and the onset of recession.
The meeting was attended by more than 400 leaders and leading experts of research organizations from 80 countries of the world. The discussion focused on improving national public health systems, recovery from the global economic crisis, supporting the socially vulnerable groups, expanding international cooperation, and new work models for research organizations in times of crisis. The meeting was attended by Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General.
