On September 13, 2022, with the assistance of the Japanese Embassy in Russia, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, held another online briefing for a group of Japanese international affairs experts on topical issues of Russian foreign policy and the development of the world order against the backdrop of unfolding regional and global crises.

On September 13, 2022, with the assistance of the Japanese Embassy in Russia, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, held another online briefing for a group of Japanese international affairs experts on topical issues of Russian foreign policy and the development of the world order against the backdrop of unfolding regional and global crises.

The event, as before, was attended by professors from leading universities of Japan, employees of think tanks related to security and international relations. The participants touched upon the likely consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict for East Asia, the threat of international terrorism, the challenges of development and security of the global South, as well as the prospects for the development of bilateral Russia-Japan relations, taking into account the termination of negotiations on the peace treaty between the two countries in March 2022, the dialogue on economic activity in the South Kuril Islands put on hold, and expanding Russia-China cooperation in the Pacific Ocean adjacent to Japan.
