Russian and Indian experts discussed interaction of the two states on the pending issues of global and regional agenda, as well as prospects for greater cooperation of Russian and Indian think tanksthink tanks.


On June 16, 2017, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting with the delegation of leading Indian think tanks.

Russian participants included Vyacheslav Trubnikov, RIAC Vice President, General of the Army, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia, Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programmes, RIAC Member, Gleb Ivashentsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia, RIAC Member, Timur Makhmutov, RIAC Deputy Director of Programmes, Andrey Volodin, Chief Research Fellow of the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of RAS, and Ksenia Kuzmina, RIAC Programme Assistant.

Nalin Surie, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India, Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), headed the Indian delegation. Rajiv Sikri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India, Suba Chandran, Professor of the National Institute for Advanced Studies (NIAS), Gopal Suri, Commodore, Senior Research Fellow of the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF), and Indrani Talukdar, ICWA Research Fellow, as well as representatives of the Embassy of India in Russia also took part in the meeting.
