On July 21, 2016 RIAC hosted a meeting of the Council’s leadership with representatives of the Vivekananda International Foundation. The discussion focused on the development of cooperation agenda of the two think-tanks.

On July 21, 2016 RIAC hosted a meeting of the Council’s leadership with representatives of the Vivekananda International Foundation. The meeting was attended by RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov, Program Director Ivan Timofeev, Deputy Program Director Timur Makhmutov, Chief Researcher of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations Andrey Volodin, Honorary Member of the Vivekananda Foundation Ambassador Rangachari, and Senior Fellow at the Vivekananda Foundation Sushant Sareen.

The discussion focused on the development of cooperation agenda of the two think-tanks. Experts from India spoke in praise of the new RIAC publication on Russian-Indian relations and expressed their willingness to support the Council’s initiative on the analysis of potential cooperation between Russia and India. The parties should concentrate on the main areas of bilateral cooperation and prepare joint proposals on specific topics.

It was noted that certain experts’ expectations center around the upcoming Russia-India summit in October. After that, RIAC and Vivekananda Foundation expert group will start its work, and the first results of its activity could be discussed at the working level early next year.
