The Chinese delegation included researcher Xu Tao from the Institute for Russian Studies of the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), researcher from the Institute for Central Asia Studies at Lanzhou University Jiao Itsyan and Third Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Han Chunying.
The event was attended on behalf of Russia by RIAC Deputy Programme Director Timur Makhmutov, chief researcher Vladimir Petrovsky from the Institute of Far Eastern Studies (IFES) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, senior research fellow Igor Denisov from the Centre for East Asian and SCO Studies of the Institute for International Studies of Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and post-graduate student Yury Kulintsev from the Institute of Far Eastern Studies (IFES) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The experts discussed the current state of affairs and development prospects of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), issues involving the linking of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Silk Road Economic Belt (SREB) as well as the impact of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) on the economic situation in the region.
