A meeting between RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov and Masud Marvi, Adviser to the Staff of Iranian Vice President for Science and Technologies, took place at RIAC on 26 August 2014. The parties discussed Russian-Iranian scientific cooperation in the field of oil and gas extraction, the impact of sanctions on a country’s development, including in the energy sector. They paid special attention to the problem of student exchanges between the two countries, noting the trend of diminishing number of Iranian students coming to study in Russia.

The two sides agreed to maintain contacts on the issues of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of science and education.
