On January 19–20, 2019, Baghdad hosted a conference “Iraq and its Neighbors - Challenges and Opportunities for New Regional Stability” under the patronage of Ayatollah Sayyid Hussein Al-Sadr and Adil Abdul-Mahdi, Iraqi Prime Minister. The event was organized by Baghdad International Center for Research and Peacebuilding in cooperation with CANDID Foundation, and EGDR.

Representatives of expert community, embassies of different states, and missions of international organizations in the country, Iraqi security agencies, deputies, and diplomats attended the event. During the five expert sessions, experts discussed the future of Iraq in the region, the challenges the country is facing, and the role of regional and global actors.
