On October 23, 2018, Andrey Zagorsky, RIAC Member, Director of IMEMO RAS Department of Disarmament and Conflict Resolution, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, met with Axel Kenes, Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalisation at Belgium MFA, and the staff of the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
On October 23, 2018, Andrey Zagorsky, RIAC Member, Director of IMEMO RAS Department of Disarmament and Conflict Resolution, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, met with Axel Kenes, Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalisation at Belgium MFA, and the staff of the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting: current issues in interaction between Russia and the European Union and the possibility for rapprochement of the positions of the parties on the settlement of the Syrian and Ukrainian crises. The meeting also touched upon the problems of forming a new European security system in the context of a possible US withdrawal from Russia-the US INF Treaty. The meeting was chaired by Gianmarco Rizzo, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Belgium in Russia.
