On July 18, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and a RIAC expert group on the Middle East issues, including Alexey Malashenko and Alexander Shumilin, met up with the staff members of Qatar Embassy to Moscow headed by Ambassador Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah.
On July 18, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and a RIAC expert group on the Middle East issues, including Alexey Malashenko and Alexander Shumilin, met up with the staff members of Qatar Embassy to Moscow headed by Ambassador Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah.
The following issues were discussed in the course of the meeting: the reasons and the dynamics of the current crisis between Qatar and a number of Arab states, the possible ways to resolve it, prospective areas for regional security system formation, and the role of Russia in this process. Some other aspects of Russian-Qatar bilateral relations were also touched upon.
