On March 15, 2023, On January 27, 2022, Karim Atassi, Head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in Russia, visited Russian International Affairs Council. 

The discussion focused on the topical issues related to the current situation with Ukrainian refugees in Russia and in European countries, in particular, filtration camps, prevention of cross-border crime and international terrorism, ensuring the rights of refugees, migrants and displaced persons. The UNHCR representative was informed about RIAC work plans on the migration vector for the current year.
