On November 20, 2018, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in cooperation with the Association of Managers held a conference on trade and economic relations between Russia and EU.
The conference included a presentation by Markus Ederer, Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation, who shared his vision of current issues and prospects for the development of relations between Russia and the European Union countries in the area of trade and economic cooperation.

In the second part of the conference, Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs, made a report on the trajectories of the EU sanctions policy. He highlighted the objectives, tools, and mechanisms of sanctions pressure by EU countries and the USA, issues of coordination of EU and U.S. sanctions policy, features of Russian policy countering sanctions, as well as prospects for new restrictive measures against Russia by Western countries.
