On November 26, 2020, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), together with the Delegation of the European Union to Russia, held a discussion of the report “Alternative Futures of EU-Russia Relations in 2030”, prepared within the framework of the project “Russia and EU: Partnership Opportunities and Building of a Think Tank Network”.
The discussion was opened by Markus Ederer, Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation, and Igor Ivanov, RIAC President. Other speakers included: Andrey Melville, Dean of Social Sciences Department at Higher School of Economics, RIAC Member; Irina Busygina, RIAC Expert, Professor at Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg; Dmitry Trenin, RIAC Member, Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center; and Dmitry Balakin, Deputy Director of the Department of European Cooperation, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussion was moderated by the authors of the report: Sabine Fischer, Team Leader of the "Public Diplomacy. EU and Russia" project, Head of the Eastern Europe and Eurasia Research Division at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin; and Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs. During the discussion, the authors answered the questions of the participants.
