On August 25–27, 2019, Salzburg (Austria) is hosting a regular meeting of the Dialogue Europe — Russia Advisory Board, held twice a year under the leadership of Wolfgang Schüssel, Chancellor of Austria (2000–2007).
Alexander Dynkin, RIAC Member, President of the IMEMO RAS; Herman Gref, RIAC Member, President, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia; Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General; Yaroslav Lisovolik and Sergey Utkin, RIAC experts, and other representatives of the Russian expert community and Russian business are taking part in the meeting.
In addition, the Ambassadors of Russia to Austria and Austria to Russia, the EU Ambassador to Russia, and senior officials of the European Union and the Government of Russia are taking part in the discussions. Maxim Akimov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, addressed the participants. The meeting is focusing on the political and economic aspects in the relations between the European Union and Russia, given the recent developments in Europe (elections in the European Union and Ukraine, aggravation of the US-China relations, etc.).
