On November 28, 2017, Moscow hosted a Russia-Israel seminar on Middle East security issues. Representatives of Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the delegation of Israeli Knesset deputies, with the support of the Embassy of Israel to Moscow, took part in the event.
Russian and Israeli delegations were headed by Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, and Avi Dichter, Chairman of Israeli Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Gary Koren, Ambassador of Israel to Russia, took part in the event.
Russian and Israeli experts discussed the issues of bilateral relations in resolution of regional and international political conflicts. They also focused on the future Syrian crisis resolution, Iran nuclear program, stability in the Middle East in the context of dynamics of Russia-U.S. relations, and the contradictions in relations among regional actors.
Alexander Aksenenok and Evgeny Buzhinsky, RIAC Vice-Presidents, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, Timur Makhmutov, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, and Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Assistant, took part in the meeting representing Russia.
