On November 12-14 Abu Dhabi (UAE) hosted The Third Annual Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate, one of the key international platforms for regional and global security issues discussion, debate about long-term tendencies in international relations system development, and global economy.
On November 12-14 Abu Dhabi (UAE) hosted The Third Annual Abu Dhabi Strategic Debate, one of the key international platforms for regional and global security issues discussion, debate about long-term tendencies in international relations system development, and global economy.
The event was organized by the Emirates Policy Center and the Atlantic Council (the U.S.), it can boast participation of about 500 experts, diplomats, journalists, social activists, and businessmen from Western Asia and other regions of the world. Special focus in the Debate was given to the Persian gulf states and their partners’ place in the changing global conditions and regional security system. The topics like Arab World development scenarios, cybersecurity issues, and the USA foreign policy under the new Executive Office of the President led to vigorous debate.
Russia was represented at the Debate by Ruslan Mamedov, Program Assistant, and RIAC experts: Elena Suponina, Adviser to the director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Alexander Shumilin, Head of the Centre for Analysis of Middle East Conflicts at RAS Institute for US and Canadian Studies, Andrey Bystritsky, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club, and Anna Starkova, Adviser to the Executive Director of the Foundation.
RIAC representatives also held consultations with some Western Asia analytical centers regarding the institutional partnership opportunities.
