In view of the upcoming visit of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Moscow, RIAC presented its working paper “Postulates on Russia-India Relations” within the framework of Moscow-Delhi video bridge during which Ambassador Trubnikov, Chief Research Fellow at RAS Institute of World Economy and International Relations Andrey Volodin and Vice President of Observer Research Foundation Nandan Unnikrishnan answered numerous questions asked by Russian and Indian journalists.

The event participants emphasized that out of the entire spectrum of Russia’s foreign policy ties, strategic partnership with India is the most efficient in terms of the projects carried out. Besides, the experts argue that there are no grounds to worry about the growing competition on the Indian market of weapons and military equipment. Indeed, this challenge should motivate the Russian defense sector, mainly due to the growing Indian demands for technology level of military production.

“Postulates on Russia-India Relations” were prepared by RIAC following a series of expert meetings and discussions with Indian partners. RIAC plans to continue the research in this area aiming at giving recommendations to improve the efficiency of the Russia’s foreign policy towards the Indian partners.
