On March 28, 2023, the 6th in the current year regular online international expert dialog on Russia-NATO relations was held, bringing together experts, former diplomats and military, public leaders from Russia, the USA, and European NATO member-states.
The organizers of the dialog on the Russian side included RAS Institute for the U.S. and Canadian Studies and RAS Institute of Europe. The meeting focused on the results of discussions about the control over strategic nuclear weapons, as well as over intermediate- and short-range missiles in Europe, including the prospects for the restoration of dialog between Russia and the United States, as well as between Russia and NATO, possible formats for nuclear arms control in the future, given the changing structure of the nuclear arsenals of the great powers and the development of dual-use technologies, promising measures to reduce nuclear risks and build confidence in the nuclear field, verification measures for future agreements, and the complexity of the ratification process, etc.

Within the framework of the dialog topics for subsequent discussions were outlined. The discussion was moderated by Sergey Rogov, Academic Director of RAS Institute for the U.S. and Canadian Studies (ISKRAN), RIAC Member. The event was attended by RIAC members, including Vladimir Baranovsky, Director of RAS Center for Situation Analysis, Member of RAS IMEMO Directorate; Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Academic Director; and Professor Vladimir Lukin.
