On September 23, 2022, Shanghai Institute for International Studies (SIIS), in partnership with The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, held the tenth online international high-level expert round table, dedicated to the trends in the development of world politics in the context of acute recent crises.
The tenth session addressed the prevention of further escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, as well as the prospects for possible mediation efforts on the part of the United Nations and a number of former European statesmen. Particular attention was paid to analyzing the results of the discussion of the current geopolitical situation at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held on September 15-16 in Samarkand. Leading international researchers from China, the USA, Great Britain, Ukraine, and Russia took part in the event. Russian side was represented at the event by Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General.
