On July 31, 2014, websites of the Russian International Affairs Council, European Leadership Network, Polish Institute of International Affairs and International Strategic Research Organization in Ankara placed the statement of Task Force on Cooperation in Greater Europe on mechanisms for crisis settlement in Europe in the Ukraine context. The statement has been widely commented by Russian and foreign media. The authors have received many letters from European and Russian political and civil society leaders who express their interest and support to the recommendations on handling the situation.

On July 31, 2014, websites of the Russian International Affairs Council, European Leadership Network, Polish Institute of International Affairs and International Strategic Research Organization in Ankara placed the statement of Task Force on Cooperation in Greater Europe on mechanisms for crisis settlement in Europe in the Ukraine context.

Authored by RIAC President Igor Ivanov, former UK Defence Secretary Des Browne, former Polish Foreign Minister Adam Daniel Rotfeld, as well as by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vyacheslav Trubnikov, President of the Association of Euro-Atlantic Cooperation Anatoly Adadmishin and Acting Director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexey Gromyko, all of them RIAC members, and other prominent figures, the paper offers a number of concrete measures to assist the crisis settlement.

The statement has been widely commented by Russian and foreign media. The Guardian highlights the document's relevance in view of the growing tensions between Russia and NATO. The National Journal, U.S.A., underlines the appeal to the conflict parties to arrange a dialogue. The Deutsche Welle cites the statement, pointing out that "the Ukraine crisis threatens the entire Europe". Comments also appeared in Der Spiegel and on numerous websites, among them Rosbalt Information Agency, Pravda.ru, Belarus Segodnya and TSN.ua

The authors have received many letters from European and Russian political and civil society leaders who express their interest and support to the recommendations on handling the situation.
