On April 22, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) held a meeting with the Prof. Jahangir Karami, Head of the Center for Russian Studies at University of Tehran and Academic Council Member at the Iran Research Institute of Eurasian Studies (IRAS), and Dr. Hamid Zanganeh, Third Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation. RIAC was represented by its Program Director Ivan Timofeev, Deputy Program Director Timur Makhmutov and Program Coordinator Vladimir Morozov.

The sides discussed prospects for cooperation between RIAC and IRAS on joint analytical products and events.

In addition, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of contemporary international relations, including security in the Greater Middle East, stabilized situation in Syria, as well as problems of Russian-Iranian bilateral relations and cooperation between our countries in the economic sphere.
