... The proposed Treaty on Prevention of the Placement of Weapons in Outer Space (PPWT) is aimed at maintaining a weapons-free outer space. What are the arguments against the draft treaty? Why should ground-based weapon systems be included in the list of space weapons? I do not consider diplomatic initiatives like the PPWT to be effective in today's political environment.
